Caren Day, Author
Caren's writing career has taken her from Los Angeles to the Nashville
music scene and then back home again to further develop her skills
at USC. You & Me is her first foray into writing for children,
a dream she's had since she was a kid.
The book was
inspired by a lifelong friendship with Richard Biggs, "a man
very different from me who was a constant source of joy and a lesson
in, not only tolerance, but acceptance of other people's points
of view. The world today is filled with diversity. Through this
book, I want to encourage kids to see differences between people
as exciting rather than threatening and to live with an open heart."

Dominique
Heffley, Illustrator
Dominique has been an artist for as long as she can remember. After
studying at the LA County High School for the Arts and the Minneapolis
College of Art and Design, she made a sojourn to China to study traditional
painting.
Since completing her studies she has enjoyed illustrating books as
well as slides for theatrical sets. Some of her most challenging work,
however, has been the floats she designed for the Tournament of Roses
Parade in Pasadena, California. Most recently she has added tombstones
to her repertoire, as an associate designer at the largest cemetery
in the world, Rose Hills Mortuary, in Whittier, California. Funny
where life takes you?
